Georges Kotrotsios dedicated his professional life, since 1985, to the creation of economic and societal value through high-end technology. The last 15 years served as Vice President at CSEM, a major Swiss R&I – Research and Innovation- facility in microtechnologies and smart digital systems (today VP Strategic relations). His role is to contribute to the bridging of the technology to the market.
Georges serves in the boards of national and international bodies, among them the Industrial Advisory Board of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences (SATW), the International Advisory Board of IDIAP (major Swiss Research Center on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics), the Executive Board of EARTO (European Association of Research and Technology Organisations; 2009-2018). He chaired in 2012, 2016 and 2020. the board of the HTA, Heterogeneous Technology Alliance (a coordination body between the Fraunhofer Microelectronics, CEA-LETI, VTT and CSEM).
He holds a Ph.D. in Optoelectronics and an MBA in management of technology. He authored two monographs “Data, New Technologies and Global Imbalances” and “Social Classes and Political Order in the Age of Data”
